Mom Lives Each Day Like It’s The 1950s — Gives A Look Into Her World

Do you ever wish you could go back in time? Maybe you want to relive a fun moment, or maybe you want to experience a time period that you weren’t able to live in. The world has definitely changed a lot over the years, and some people may be nostalgic for their past, or be curious about what it was like during times in which they were not yet alive. One woman, in particular, has decided that she wants to live every day like she is in the 1950s.

Laci Fay has been fascinated with the lifestyle of the 1950s for quite some time now, and has opted to live every day like it is 1958. She first got hooked on the concept when her grandparents told her stories about what it was like living during that time. Laci quickly fell in love with the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of that era, and decided to make the past her present.

Both she and her husband, Dane Fay, dress and act like they are in that time period. Everything about their style and aura is reflective of that era, from the way they do their hair, to the car they drive and even to the stores they choose to shop at. Even Laci’s own son has gotten involved with carrying out their newfound way of life. While some people may be confused as to why the family has decided to go about their typical life like this, Laci and her husband and son have grown to enjoy the way they feel by embracing this long-bygone decade.

A Look Into Her 1950s Life

“You should do what you like, you should do what makes you feel beautiful and dress however you want to dress that makes you feel the most like you,” Laci said during an interview with In The Know. Laci has adapted her personal style to match the typical dress of the 1950s, including shoes, hats, dresses and brooches from that time period that she has either found in thrift stores or received as a gift, according to In The Know.

“As soon as I put on my first 1950s dress with my hair and makeup done, that’s when I felt I was finally me,” Laci explained. “I’ve never looked back since then.” While changing up your style is a pretty simple task, Laci and her husband have gone the extra mile and have made sure their entire aesthetic fits the 1950s. In The Know reported that the couple bought a house that was built in 1953 and filled it with appropriate furniture and decor.

“When people walk into our house for the first time, a smile comes on everybody’s face,” Dane said. The only room that doesn’t completely fit the aesthetic is their son Conner’s room, but he still likes the look of the rest of the family home. “It feels so normal to me now that I wouldn’t really think of it as different anymore,” he said.

Laci has stood by her choice to live her life in this authentic way. “I understand that to the outside folks looking in, it could be weird, but I think everybody’s weird in their own way,” she said. “Everybody’s nerdy about something, might as well be something that you love.”
