Mom Is Offering $52,000 Per Year For A Nanny Who Would Agree To Only Dress As Disney Princesses

When it comes to dream jobs, you’d think that dressing up and acting like a Disney character for two preschoolers just four days a week would top the list, right? Figure in the pay is around $52,000 USD, and the list of applicants must be breaking down the doors for this nanny job.

Good childcare is hard to find, but it turns out that adding good pay and tailoring your nanny needs to the whimsical may not help. One family turned to the childcare.co.uk website to post a self-described “unusual” part-time nanny position in the Brookmans Park area.

The unusual part? The family wants their prospective nanny to dress up as a Disney character and assume the character’s persona while caring for twin five-year-old girls.

The parents write in the ad that they think the inclusion of strong and relatable female Disney characters would help communicate important values, such as compassion, ambition, fearlessness, and determination, to their children.

These parents aren’t just looking for fun and games from a Disney-loving nanny, however. They want a nanny to create a fun, creative, and engaging atmosphere, but they’re clear that their occasional “little terrors” will also need a strong disciplinarian.

The job requires the nanny Tuesday through Friday. She will pick the kids up from school, get started on some Disney-themed activity of her own creation, cook the kids dinner, and then possibly put them to bed some nights.

In exchange, the family offers a $52,000 annual salary, five weeks of vacation, and reimbursement for all the Disney princess costumes.

Unusual or not, this nanny job sounds like the perfect gig for all you babysitters who’ve dreamed of playing dress up all day as you outsmart witches, fly on magic rugs, and converse with woodland animals to the backdrop of theatrical music.

Yet, somehow this job posting has been up since March. Go figure.
