Mom Gets Her Groove Back After Dazzling Makeover

Laurie, 55, from Champaign, Illinois is a mom who is looking to get a groove back by going under the magical hands of Christopher Hopkins aka "The Makeover Guy," for the second time after more than 10 years.

This isn't Laurie's first makeover experience with Christopher Hopkins. She addresses that to Christopher saying, "10 and a half years ago, my girlfriend and I booked an appointment after reading your book and we had the absolute best weekend ever." "So now it's time for a repeat." The video cuts to decade-old footage showing Laurie getting her new hairstyle from Christopher.
We learn in the pre-makeover interview that she left her position as a COO for a large healthcare company based in Illinois.
"I traveled almost every day, I had a lot of responsibility," she says. "I had about 1,700 employees and about 1,700 patients to worry about 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And I retired about 2 and a half three years ago and I haven't looked back." Laurie now enjoys her life as a stay-at-home mom.
"I have two sons, I still have a seventh-grader at home and he's involved in all kinds of sports. I have a sophomore in college. My husband doesn't count as a child but he is part of the family and I look after him as well," she jokes.

"You know, there is a whole psychology about women and how they disappear as they get older they go into the background. But that's okay because with anonymity comes wisdom and I'd rather have the wisdom," Laurie says. "I do yoga I do pilates I volunteer and I alphabetize my spice cabinet as well. But I'm lucky to be a stay-at-home mom at this point, I never got to do that during my career. so I really enjoy the opportunity to be present for my family now."
"My day has just been absolutely fabulous," Laurie says. "The setting, the lunch, the makeup, the hair. Fabulous."
When asked if the guys in her family will notice anything she says it's unlikely. "They may not notice anything because, well, they just don't notice anything. My 13-year-old was not a fan of me going short. So at least now I know that he'll speak to me so that's a plus."
