Mom Delivers A Baby During Wildfire And Does Not Expect To Survive Until A Stranger Drags Her Into A Safe House

Heather Roebuck holds a special place in the heart of Feather River Hospital. She delivered the last baby in the building before the Camp Fire in California pushed toward its doors.

Heather delivered her little girl by C-section. Shortly after Halley was born, the nurses and doctors were told to evacuate everyone inside the hospital. Nurses ran around everywhere trying to get mothers packed and ready to go along with their babies.

In an effort to keep Heather safe, she was taken to another hospital in an ambulance. Her husband and baby girl were separated from her for a short time until they were able to meet each other again. About a mile down the road from the hospital, the ambulance encountered the blaze from the fire and started to melt.

They were trapped in a neighborhood with what seemed like no way out at the time.

Heather couldn't feel anything from her waist down because the medication that she had received for her C-section hadn't worn off yet. She was frightened and thought that she was going to die. She wanted to make what she thought would be her last phone call ever to her husband to let him know that she loved him and their baby.

As the fire spread from one home to another and approached the ambulance, a stranger appeared to offer help. He opened the ambulance door and dragged Heather to safety. Then, he took Heather inside a home where a miracle occurred.

Watch to see just what happened inside a home with total strangers who cared enough about someone else to save Heather's life:
