Mom Criticized For Posting Photo Of Christmas Tree With Hundreds Of Presents

The social media is a place where people love to showcase the things that they’re proud of – including their Christmas decorations. In some cases, though, viewers aren’t so thrilled to see pictures of what is hiding under the tree. This became obvious when Emma Tapping decided to post a picture of her Christmas tree on a social networking site. Emma’s pictures revealed not only the tree but also the 300 gifts that she had piled beneath it! Rather than drawing praise or Christmas cheer, her photo became a thing of controversy.

In the image, the tree is practically choked out by the pile of gifts that reach from the base of the tree almost halfway up the trunk.

Those who saw the image weighed in to accuse Tapping of being “materialistic” and “bragging” about her wealth, as reported here by The Sun. When they found out that the enormous pile of gifts was for her children, others claimed that she was going to spoil them and that she was downright “disgusting” for her choice to purchase that many presents.

Tapping didn’t take the criticism well, fighting back by explaining that she is a huge fan of Christmas and that she loves using it to spoil her kids. She also pointed out that it is her hard work that makes it possible for her to purchase that many gifts.

The photo garnered so much attention that Tapping ended up being interviewed for Inside Edition. During the interview, she did let it slip that her son only gets around 30 presents while her daughters get about 85 each.

Tapping explains that her pile of gifts is possible because she bargain hunts all year long, taking advantage of deals and discounts. She showcased her skills on air, finding a box of Legos for Christmas at a whopping 40 percent off original price.

Despite all her attempts at saving money, Tapping still spends over $2,000 for the gifts under her tree. She says that it is worth every penny and that she has no regrets about her decision to lavish her children during the holiday season.

What do you think of Tapping’s choice? Is she going a bit overboard? Let us know what you and your friends and family think.
