Mary Katherine Backstrom is regularly blogging and vlogging and has quite an online presence, and she recently shared a story on a live stream that quickly went viral for obvious reasons.

She was in the midst of being filled with the Christmas spirit and had shared that with a complete stranger who had done nothing Christmas-like, before realizing her mistake and rushing off.

Mary, who is a mom to a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old, was on her way to pick them up from school. However, she decided to stop at a Wawa gas station en route. As she walked in, she was thinking of an article that she had recently read about how generous people are during the holiday season and how that makes this time of year so special. So, she decided to do her part.

As she was in line, Mary saw a woman behind her with a ginger ale. She thought to herself, okay, I can afford to pay for that. After confirming with the woman that she was only getting the ginger ale, she offered to pay for it, and the two had a good laugh and a special moment as Mary completed her deed.

Now glowing from what had just happened and completely feeling the Christmas spirit, she headed out of the gas station to see someone cleaning the windshield of her car for her. Wow, she thought, that's so amazing and sweet; everybody's in the Christmas spirit! According to Pop Sugar, she rushed up to the man and gave him a huge hug while exclaiming, "This is my favorite part of humanity! I love Christmas so much. Thank you for doing this." What a special moment that was.

Or was it?

It turned out that it wasn't her car. It looked similar to hers, but it wasn't. Hers was in front of his, and he had been cleaning his own windshield. As soon as she realized her mistake, she was so embarrassed that she rushed to her car and drove off.

Once her live stream started, Mary and many of her viewers could not stop laughing, partly due to how hilarious the story was and partly due to how entertainingly she told it. Her mom was especially amused.

The archive of that live stream has been viewed by more than 75 million people.
