Mistreated Circus Tiger Finally Gets To Know What Love Is

A tiger that suffered maltreatment and neglect recently received another lease on life. This Bengal tiger known as Aasha is now a whole new cat, with a newfound husband to accompany her on her journey.

When Aasha was rescued she was just nine months old but still very small for her age. With only 30 pounds, Aasha was the same weight that a three-month-old tiger would be.

Additionally, Aasha's fur started to fall out all over her body as her skin was cracked and bleeding. She was in bad shape, one wouldn't have thought she'd live to see better days.

As the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Centre in Texas learned more about Aasha, they wondered why a nine-month-old tiger was so small. As they looked into the matter further, they both discovered Aasha was suffering from several untreated conditions, in addition to neglect.

Aasha used to be a part of a circus that housed her with other tigers that used to attack her. The In-Sync staff discovered that she had a ringworm infection.

Once the condition had been identified, Aasha got treatment for ringworm. For her treatment, Aasha needed medicated baths. Though the tiger initially hated her new routine, she soon got used to it. She started to splash around in her bath as her health drastically improved.

Once Aasha's health began to return to normal, she was allowed to be around other tigers. Placed next to a tiger named Smuggler, Aasha and her new friend soon fell in love.

While Aasha and Smuggler's attraction was impossible to deny, the In-Sync staff needed to ensure the bigger tiger wouldn't hurt Aasha. During a period of supervised "dating", the staff members watched over Aasha and Smuggler.

Soon both tigers were allowed to live in their pen together.

Fast forward four years, these lovebirds are still living and loving together.
