Who knew that Mary Halsey had this in her? The Rhode Island woman performed a cover of Missy Elliott's "Work It" song at a BBQ in the park and the performance quickly went viral.

Halsey delighted her audience by introducing herself as Elliott's "funky white sister" before absolutely nailing the lyrics, even Elliott's patented backward hook and the elephant trumpeting sound to go along with it.

Halsey's sense of style shown through in her bright floral top and her shofar instrument.

Despite a woman walking by in the background eating an Oodles of Noodles, Halsey continued her performance and dance without missing one beat.

After the video received over 13 million views, even Elliott herself commented about her funky white sister nailing the song with gusto.

Ellen DeGeneres got word of the internet sensation and invited Halsey on to her daytime talk show. During the interview, Halsey told the audience about how she had been performing that particular song for 15 years. But even she admitted that the millions of views were shocking.

Ellen invited Halsey to perform for her studio audience and she gladly obliged. What she did not know was that halfway through the song, Elliott would be joining her on stage to finish out the performance.

After the rousing duet, the two sat down to chat with Ellen some more. Halsey was overcome with emotion, shocked that she was sitting on the couch next to her idol. She even led the audience in a chant to commemorate the occasion.

Elliott took the opportunity to praise Halsey for her musical chops and for performing her song with such authenticity.

The show ended with Ellen presenting Halsey with a special floral jacket with the words "MISSY'S FUNKY WHITE SISTER" printed on the back.

This performance is too good not to be seen by more people. Make sure you let all of your friends and family know to check out this surprise duet by Missy Elliott and her number one fan, Mary Halsey.
