Mischievous Brothers Hide In Bathroom After Finding Art Supplies — Father Is In Hysterics

Jun 22, 2021 by apost team

In a video from April 2013, two young brothers make their dad laugh in disbelief when they break into the art supplies and cover themselves in finger paint. We don’t know the boys' ages but they look to be about 5 and 3, and are named Ryder and Sawyer. The boys got paint all over themselves and the room they found the paints in.

The video shows the two boys sitting in the shower, where they had been hiding from their parents after they made a big mess. Their father questioned them as to what happened by saying, "Whose idea was this? Did you think this was a good idea? Who got the paint out?" The little boys meekly responded by pointing fingers at each other.

It is at this point the dad just starts to laugh at the situation, he seems shocked and the sight of the boys is pretty hilarious. “What is funny?” asked the older child with his face completely covered in paint, and his father responded that it was nothing. The boys had paint in their hair and even in their ears; not a spot was left uncovered.

Through his giggles, the dad said, “I don’t think this is funny at all, you guys are in big trouble.” He let the boys know they would have to go in time out and won’t be getting any juice before bed. The boys were surprisingly okay with this and did not try to argue their case. It seems they knew that they had made a mistake this time.

Little children have a knack for finding ways to make big messes. In this case, it was paint, but there is also dirt or play-dough or any number of things that can contribute to a messy playtime. Having to clean up after kids is always a challenge but Very Well Family argues that there may be benefits to letting your children make messes.

One reason they suggest children could benefit from messy situations is that they engage the senses. “The feel of mud underneath bare feet, the sound of a bird, the smell of grass up close - these sensory experiences will help your child understand the world better than any book or DVD can,” the article states.

In the book "Why Dirt Is Good: 5 Ways to Make Germs Your Friends" microbiology and immunology expert Mary Ruebush, Ph.D. explains, "exposure to dirt helps children build strong immune systems that will provide lifelong protection." This means that letting your children get dirty could improve their health. However, it is of course still important to teach kids how to have good hygiene as well.

Another reason you may want to let your kids get messy every now and then is it teaches them how to get good at cleaning up. Very Well Family suggests creating a zone, either indoors or outdoors, where your child can make a mess without needing to clean it up right away and encourage them to use the space for creative play. Next, give your child periodic warnings before it is time to clean up, this way it is easier to transition to cleaning instead of playing. Kids will always make messes, it’s just up to the parents to make something good out of the situation.
