Mini Horse And Rescued Goose Become BFFs

Jul 29, 2020 by apost team

In 2019, an unlikely friendship between a goose named Hemmingway and a miniature horse named Waffles spread far and wide across the internet. Both Hemmingway and Waffles were awaiting adoption in Pennsylvania that year, though the odds weren't looking good given that the two inseparable friends had to be adopted together.

But after going viral earlier in 2019, Hemmingway and Waffles finally found their forever home together.

According to Good Morning America (GMA), Waffles and Hemmingway were adopted together in September 2019 and now live on a farm in southeastern Pennsylvania.

"Hemingway immediately went for a dip in his new and bigger pool and Waffles seemed very happy to roll in the grass," Cindy Kelly, spokeswoman for the Bucks County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), told GMA.

How strong is their bond? The bond appears powerful. Such is often the case when two animals grow up together. SPCA staff members noticed the two animal kingdom friends do get along incredibly well. Hemingway, the diminutive goose, often becomes protective of his horse friend.

Even when SPCA staff members tried to care for Waffles, Hemingway got irked, moving between them. The goose doesn't realize the staff members are trying to help him and his friend. What a shame more humans don't act like Waffles and Hemingway.
