It’s absolutely incredible how in today’s world one viral image or video can truly change someone’s entire life, even if they didn’t even realize the photo was being taken. A photograph of a young boy recently went viral and pulled at the heartstrings of people around the world.

The boy was 11-year-old Víctor Martín Angulo Córdoba reports the Mirror, and an image was captured of him doing something as routine as his homework. However, he wasn’t doing it in any type of routine manner that most of us are fortunate to have.

Victor lives in Moche, Peru and his family’s home has no electricity. He was sitting on a curb on the street so that he could do his homework under the dim light of a public street lamp. The video itself was actually captured by street cameras in his hometown of Moche.

During the time the video was taken, Victor rarely looks up from his work, clearly focused on getting the most out of his education. It wasn’t long until the photograph and the accompanying video went globally viral.

People across the world were moved by Victor’s dedication to learn as much as he can, even by the dim street light during what was clearly a late night. One man was particularly interested in Victor’s dedication to his studies.

Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak is a millionaire at just 31 years of age. He is a well-known philanthropist from Bahrain. When Yaqoob saw the photo of Victor studying, he knew that he was in the fortunate position of being able to help the young boy and his family.

Mubarak flew to Peru almost immediately with the goal of helping this young boy and his family. The millionaire philanthropist completely transformed Victor’s family home, increasing it from a very humble one-story home to a two-story house. The house included full electricity in order for Victor to be able to study whenever he wanted.

Yaqoob even worked with Victor’s mom to help establish her very own business. He saw the need in the area and also financially committed to rebuilding Victor’s school, something the school desperately needs.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we all tried to follow in Yaqoob’s footsteps and tried to give back as much as we could? Pass this story on to anyone who would like to be uplifted by this amazing story!
