Miley Cyrus Promises To "Take Care Of" Late Voice Contestant’s Daughter

"The Voice" contestant Janice Freeman passed away on March 2, leaving her fans heartbroken. The 33-year-old performer was a popular contestant on season 13 of the reality singing competition.

A statement from Freeman's family said that she passed away as a result of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart. Freeman's husband, Dion, valiantly performed CPR on her until paramedics arrive. Unfortunately, Freeman lost her battle shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Freeman endeared herself to the audience and judges of "The Voice" with her beautiful voice and strong spirit. The cervical cancer survivor also battled lupus.

While on the show, Freeman developed a close friendship with her celebrity coach, Miley Cyrus. The two remained close even after the show was over. Cyrus even helped Freeman secure living arrangements, paying her deposit and covering her expenses for six months so that she could back on her feet.

It is clear that Cyrus is heartbroken over the news of Freeman's passing. Shortly after Freeman's passing was announced, Cyrus took to Instagram to write a beautiful tribute to her dear friend. In the post, Cyrus promised to look after Freeman's daughter, Hannah.
