Mila Kunis Won The Audience Over On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ With Funny Reply After Being Booed

Mila Kunis is an actor who rose to prominence on the sitcom "That '70s Show." The show aired from 1998 to 2006 and ran for eight seasons and 200 episodes. It centered around the lives of a teenage friend group in the 1970s and addressed social issues during that time. It performed well and was a commercial success, which helped launch the career of Kunis, as well as her future husband, Ashton Kutcher. Incidentally, they played a couple in the show, but it would be many years before they got together romantically in real life.

Before Kunis was an actress, she traveled many miles from Ukraine to the United States at the age of 7 to experience a one-of-a-kind upbringing. Before she went on to join hit TV shows and movies, Kunis played the challenging real-life role of a young Jewish girl feeling out of place in Los Angeles, California.

Moving with her brother, mom and father, the star said her parents left the (then) Soviet Union for more opportunities. From Barbie Mattel commercials to TV appearances, Kunis quickly became popular as a successful child actor before she finally made her way onto "That '70s Show," at the age of 14. Working a full-time acting gig with a studio teacher, Kunis said her family dynamic and situation were very unique.

Now a star with an impressive career behind her, Kunis often finds herself on the publicity trail whenever she has a new movie coming out. In September 2022, she appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" ahead of the release of her new movie "Luckiest Girl Alive." But thanks to a few honest confessions related to pizza and not being a New Yorker, Kunis found herself booed by the audience. Ever the entertainer, the actress managed to turn the crowd's heckling into laughs with a few witty responses.

On the special episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," which was filmed live in Brooklyn instead of the show's usual studio setting, Kunis came out and had barely taken her seat when she launched into a story that had just happened backstage.

She began by explaining that whenever celebrities do press tours, their clothes are selected in advance and sent off to the locations where they'll be wearing them — for example, her appearance that night on Jimmy Kimmel's show. But when she arrived and unzipped the garment bag, her dress and boots were there, but to her dismay, no undergarments such as bra, underwear or socks were present. As she put it, "Why I wasn't wearing those garments either is a whole other story, which we can get into at a later time." She subsequently looked around and exclaimed, "Uhh, I think we have a problem."

At that point in the interview, Kimmel and the crowd were in a fit of laughter. Kunis then graciously thanked members of her team who allowed her to borrow a bra and socks, while they managed to find a pair of children's leggings to fashion into a pair of underwear for the actress.

Kunis added that none of this would matter if it wasn't for the fact her dress was see-through. Sounds like she and her team managed to save the night! The hilariously true story led Kimmel to say:

“You seem like you could be a New Yorker, but you're not a New Yorker.”

Kunis confirmed she was, in fact, not a New Yorker, but this only led to an even funnier moment in the interview. To start, this prompted a boo from the audience. Taken aback, Kunis joked, "What's wrong with your audience?" If only she knew how much worse things were about to get!

Kunis joked back that it was "very New York" of the heckler to boo her simply for not being from New York. She then launched into a story of how when she and her family first came to the United States from Ukraine; they were put up in a hotel in New York to have health checks before moving on to Los Angeles. The actress recalled her memory of the place, which had a cemetery across the street, and revealed the fact that she tried a burger and Coca-Cola for the first time there.

Kimmel instantly asked if she had pizza for the first time as well, to which Kunis replied, looking in the heckler's direction: "Are you ready? No." The entire crowd started to boo, to which Kunis joked, "Boy, this audience is something." She elaborated:

“No, I did not have pizza in New York ... but my dad delivered pizzas growing up."

Though when she added it was in LA, the crowd laughed. Kunis said: "That's mean. LA has perfectly fine pizzas, guys!" As if on cue, the audience booed back, which led the actress, who was struggling to hold back laughter and disbelief to say: “You know what?! I'm wearing children's underwear for you.”

That clearly got her onside again with the audience, which erupted in laughter. Kunis observed how the crowd had quickly "turned," but her story wasn't quite over. She dealt one last blow when she said:

"There's more to this story — just to get another boo ... It was Domino's Pizza.”

That time the crowd had a good laugh before Kimmel began to lay into Kunis how Domino's is fine "in a pinch," but it's not really pizza. It seems with New Yorkers and pizza, you can never win!
