Although squirrels are cuter than rats or mice, these furry creatures aren't any less mischevious. In fact, their cuteness often distracts people from the pranks that these vermin can pull.

It is no secret that squirrels have a habit of hiding acorns, pinecones, and other sources of food from their peers. This is partially due to the lack of food during the wintertime. However, some squirrels make a habit of hiding food even during the spring and summer months.

While these animals might be cute enough to receive food from humans, squirrels aren't always the brightest when it comes to hiding their stash. One man from Michigan stumbled upon the motherload of all squirrel stashes, and the image has been going viral.

According to Mlive.com, Kellen Moore found over 50 pounds of assorted pine cones in his car. The Gaylord, Michigan resident noticed some odd noises coming from his air conditioner. In an attempt to rectify the problem, Moore and his coworker looked under the hood of his Dodge Journey.

Much to their surprise, the two men found pinecones tucked into every square inch of the vehicle's hood.

Gabe Awrey, Moore's coworker, gave an interview with Mlive.com after the incident. The Michigan resident admitted that everyone in the area witnesses something similar. However, he expressed how this particular situation was something truly unique.

The sheer amount of pine cones found in Moore's car was staggering. According to Awrey, most people only find a few acorns in their air filter.

A squirrel had made the perfect nest in an insulated and protected vehicle with plenty of food. The only issue is that the nest was bound to drive off at some point.

Awrey took a picture of the incident and posted it on his Facebook page. A local meteorologist eventually found the photo and decided to share it on his own page. This initial share gave the picture enough traction to go viral.

The meteorologist is a popular figure in the town of Gaylord, Michigan. It was obvious that some squirrels had been preparing their nest for a long time before it was discovered by Moore and his coworker.

It took the duo more than 45 minutes to clear the entire vehicle of pine cones. It's hard to imagine how long it would have taken squirrels to stash over 50 pounds of pine cones into the vehicle.
