Michigan Couple Says Ghost They Saw On Nanny Cam Left Scratches On Baby Girl

Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins are a young couple from Highland, Michigan who recently welcomed a little girl into their family. While they save up money for a place of their own, they're staying in Josh's mother's guesthouse.

It seemed like the perfect setup at first - until their nanny cam captured a strange image walking around in their 15-month-old daughter Lily's bedroom. The couple believe it was a ghost and frighteningly, Lily now bears marks from the experience. 

Many people explore haunted houses around Halloween as a way to get into the spirit of the season, but for Heather and Joshua, the spookiness of a haunted house just became a very scary reality.

When Lily woke up with scratch marks on her face, they looked at their nanny cam footage for an explanation. What they saw on the screen both frightened and shocked them.

"It’s almost like she sees something that we don’t," Heather told WXYZ.

Joshua then went to describe the whole ordeal as "chilling".

"It was chilling; it was literally a chill down your spin, like that 'what if' factor – Is this what I just saw?"

Despite only having the video as evidence, Heather and Josh think their guesthouse is haunted and that the ghost is out to get their family.

"It scares us that it could do something else... I mean, there was a morning I woke up and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck,"

Heather said.

Rumor has it that the man who lived in the home prior to Josh's parents purchasing it committed suicide by jumping out of a second story window.

While the couple suspects that man is the ghost they saw in that video, they aren't planning on sticking around much longer to encounter him again. They have hopes to move out of the home as soon as possible.
