Michelle Pfeiffer is an American actress who rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s, captivating audiences with her stunning beauty, screen presence and talent for bringing complex characters to life. Over the course of her career, Pfeiffer has become known for her versatility and ability to seamlessly transition between a wide range of genres, from dramatic films to romantic comedies, musicals and even superhero movies.
Pfeiffer was born on April 29, 1958, in Santa Ana, California. She grew up in a close-knit family, with a father who was a heating and air conditioning contractor and a mother who worked as a schoolteacher. Despite her parents’ modest upbringing, Pfeiffer had a passion for acting from a young age and was determined to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
After graduating from high school, Pfeiffer attended Golden West College, where she studied theater. She was soon discovered by a talent scout and landed her first professional acting job, appearing in commercials and music videos. Pfeiffer’s breakout role came in 1982 when she was cast as Elvira Hancock in the iconic film “Scarface.” The film was a commercial and critical success, and Pfeiffer’s performance was widely praised for its portrayal of a glamorous but ultimately tragic drug addict.
Over the next few years, Pfeiffer established herself as one of the most talented and sought-after actresses of her generation. She starred in a string of box-office hits, including “The Witches of Eastwick,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Married to the Mob,” and “The Fabulous Baker Boys.” In each of these films, Pfeiffer showcased her remarkable range and versatility as an actress, playing complex and often unconventional characters with ease and grace.

Throughout her career, Pfeiffer has continued to take on a wide range of roles, never afraid to push the boundaries of what is expected of her as an actress. She has starred in romantic comedies such as “One Fine Day,” musicals such as “Hairspray,” and dramatic films such as “White Oleander.” In each of these films, Pfeiffer has shown her ability to bring depth and nuance to even the most challenging roles, consistently delivering powerful and memorable performances.
Pfeiffer’s career reached new heights in the early 1990s when she starred in one of the classics of the superhero genre: “Batman Returns.” Her portrayal of Catwoman received universal acclaim and is often cited as the best representation of the DC villain on film. Pfeiffer found herself returning to the superhero genre in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp” as Janet van Dyne. She told Entertainment Tonight while she never expected to return to the world of superheroes, she isn’t unhappy about it.
“I was surprised when it came my way and I was excited,” she said after making a joke about not being eager to get “back into super uncomfortable wardrobes.”
She added: “Janet van Dyne was the founder of the Avengers. In fact, in my first meeting with Peyton, it’s what got me very excited about playing this. He said, ‘She’s a founder of the Avengers and a very seminal part of this world.’”
Pfeiffer said she has always liked “being physical” and – in a nod back to her Catwoman days – “Women, we can kick butt, and we’ve been kicking butt for a long time.”
Pfeiffer reprised her role for the third installment of the series “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and was a vision in black on the red carpet for the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

Pfeiffer is known as one of Hollywood’s most stunning actresses of all time – to her benefit and detriment. Early on in her career, Pfeiffer often had to prove to critics she was more than just a beautiful face. She has since shown the world that she has the acting chops while also inciting the envy of women worldwide due to her seemingly unnaturally slow aging process. She told People she follows the basics of skincare with sunscreen and gets manicures regularly, getting older doesn’t whip up fear in her.
“I certainly see that I’ve changed. I just try not to dwell on it,” she said. “Aging happens to every single one of us. Once you accept that it unburdens you.”
Pfeiffer is also known for having an impeccable fashion sense. She described her style as “old hippie meets classic design,” and added, “the designers I wear most combine the two in varying degrees.” The lover of suits and boots said her other fashion favorite is a simple addition.
“My favorite accessory is hoop earrings. I’ve worn them since I was 12 years old,” she said.
These days, Pfeiffer is no longer running down red carpets on the regular, but when she does, she knows how to make her presence felt.
On Feb. 6, 2023, Pfeiffer stepped out looking nothing short of glam for the premiere of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” The blonde bombshell donned a black, long-sleeved, floor-length gown from the Saint Laurent Spring 2023 collection. The dress was given an added oomph with dramatic,’ 80s-styled enlarged shoulders while the skirt was nipped in at the waist, showing off Pfeiffer’s amazing figure. Pfeiffer kept accessories simple, with gold bangles at the wrists and her go-to gold hoop earrings, proving classic favorites are sometimes just the best choice.
