The Obamas are an adorable family. But if Barak had made a different choice, he and Michelle might have never been married, and the course of history would have been altered forever. It all depended on an ultimatum that Michelle laid down in the early days.

Barack and Michelle's marriage has been inspirational ever since the couple first took up residence in the White House. The two are never seen disagreeing in public, and they always have time for tender moments in between their political obligations.

Their marriage has also resulted in two beautiful daughters, Malia Ann, 21, and Sasha, 18. These two girls grew up in the White House, and their huge smiles show how much the Obamas love each other.

But marriage isn't easy. In Michelle Obama's 2018 biography, "Becoming," she talks about the commitment she and Barack have made. She says that marriage is a daily choice that you make because you believe in the other person. "Becoming" isn't just full of motivational words, it also includes some surprising details about Michelle and Barak's early courtship.

According to the Express, one tale that had readers chuckling describes a warning that Michelle gave to the future president. Barak doesn't really like to talk on the phone – or at least, he didn't before he met Michelle. Instead, he likes to write letters.

A good love letter is a beautiful thing, but it's no replacement for a warm phone call. Michelle writes about how she informed Barak that he'd "better get comfortable with the phone," because that's the only way their relationship had a chance of working.

In fact, she even told him that if he didn't want to listen to her, she'd find another man who would. The couple got married in 1992, so it's pretty obvious which choice Barak made.

In an interview with CBS, Michelle spoke about how she always wanted her children to have a normal and relaxed family life. Growing up in the White House was an experience, but the family seems glad that they now have time to spend together.

Since the Obamas left office, they've vacationed all over the world. Some of their most notable stops included Hawaii, Italy, and the British Virgin Isles. According to the Observer, the Obamas are an extremely athletic family, and they love to spend time out on the water. The press has seen them going white water rafting and kite surfing. They've also spent plenty of time cruising on yachts and enjoying their time together.

This beautiful family certainly deserves as much time together as possible. What do you think would have happened if Barak said he didn't like phone calls after all?
