Strahan, 48, wrote about how much Michael Jr. means to him and expressed the privilege he feels being his dad. In the moving caption, he wrote:

The father-son message comes at a poignant time for Strahan as he recently lost his own father, Gene Willie Strahan Sr., who passed away at the age of 83, reports TMZ. This tragic event made Strahan reflect on family ties. He penned a meaningful reminder for all of us:

"Take time to hug your parents, spouse, and kids. Let them know how you feel and don’t take it for granted that they automatically know that you love them."

Strahan has four children. His firstborn is 28-year-old Tanita who works as a visual artist in LA and has her own podcast. According to Distractify, her younger brother Michael, now 25, is an alumnus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Both Tanita and Michael Jr. are from Strahan's first marriage to Wanda Hutchins.

From his second marriage to Jean Muggli Strahan has two 15-year-old twin girls called Isabella and Sophia.

Strahan has always been very open about the role his kids play in his life. He often speaks about them in interviews and refers to them as his motivation to succeed. Even though his children weren't all raised together, he believes they still feel close and have a strong bond. When asked about the important things in life he responded saying:

"My kids give me strength. I love being with the kids. To me it's all about family, now more than anything."
