Hollywood power-couple Catherine Zeta-Jones, 50, and Michael Douglas, 75, are both celebrating milestone birthdays today. Despite their celebrity status, the pair have decided against having an over-the-top bash, opting for a low-key celebration instead.

Last Thursday, Douglas attended a luncheon at the Paley Center for Media in NYC that honored the actors career on television, where he revealed to Page Six his birthday plans with Zeta-Jones.

“This one is a big one, but because we’re in the middle of house moving, our kids are going away to schools and all that, we’re taking a little hiatus,” he told the publication. “We were starting to plan a big bang and then realized it was just overwhelming and we could do it some other time.”

“So we’re going to just be quiet. We have a number of friends who share our same birthday and we’re going to go to one of their parties and hide,” he added.

During the event, Douglas had a sit-down with ABC’s Juju Chang, where he looked back on his amazing 50-year acting career. When asked how he would like to be remembered, his sweet answer evoked an immediate “aw” from the audience when answered he wanted to be remembered for being a “good husband.”

“That’s the safe answer,” he teased.

The 75-year-old also looked back at how the couple met in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival in France.

“I looked at her and said, ‘Catherine,’ and she said, ‘Yes?’ ‘I’m going to be the father of your children,'” he recounted, adding that didn’t go over well with her as it was the first time they had ever spoken to each other.

Zeta-Jones and Douglas got married in 2000 and have since had two children.

We hope the couple has a very happy birthday! What do you think of their relationship? Let us know in the comments - and make sure you pass this along to your friends and family!
