The world's first hair follicle bank has launched in the UK, making it possible for men and women to store their hair follicles in a frozen state for later use reports The Sun. The process at HairClone begins with a consultation with a professional, which is designed to determine if the person is a good candidate for hair follicle banking.

If the prospective patient is determined to be a good fit for the process, approximately 100 hair follicles are taken from the back of the head through a simple surgical procedure. These follicles are then cryopreserved.
The next step involves the multiplication of cells from the existing follicles. The follicles are then implanted back into the patient's head, restoring both length and thickness.

HairClone also has plans to launch a process called follicle neogenesis, in which cells from the banked follicles are used to create new follicles, according to their website. At £1,700 (Approximately $2,000), the regeneration process is significantly more cost-effective than a total hair transplant, making it a good choice for those looking to regenerate hair without breaking the bank.
