She went to Los Angeles to be in a fashion show where she was recognized as a stylish beauty who impressed a former Miss Slovenia while there with her educated and flawless conversation. This was the stylish and sophisticated Melania that Donald Trump first met and was instantly attracted to. Her childhood friends also described as coming from humble beginnings.
