Meghan Trainor Responds to Critics After 60-Pound Weight Loss: “I’ve Never Felt Better and I Look Incredible”

Singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor has opened up about the backlash she faced after publicly sharing her 60-pound weight loss. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Nov. 13, 2025, Trainor expressed pride in her dedication to her physical and mental well-being, especially after becoming a mother of two. However, she revealed that the period she feels strongest has also attracted criticism.

In March 2025, Trainor publicly shared that she had incorporated Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a GLP-1 medication, into her weight-loss journey under medical supervision. She later elaborated that the decision followed her second pregnancy, along with guidance from a dietician, lifestyle adjustments, and work with a trainer. "I've been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me," she said and continued: "Yes, I used science and support… and I'm so glad I did because I feel great."

Her renewed focus on well-being comes as she prepares to release her new album "Toy With Me." Its lead single, "Still Don't Care," was inspired by the negative online comments she received about her changing appearance. Trainor's openness about her health journey reflects her longstanding commitment to authenticity. Although she rose to fame with the body-positivity anthem "All About That Bass," she has consistently emphasized that confidence begins with honesty and self-reflection.

In the November 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Trainor stated:

"I'm literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I've never felt better and I look incredible."

She continued:

"And that's when people attack me."

The Grammy winner explained that she has learned to prioritize self-care—both for herself and her children, Riley and Barry:

"I'm taking care of myself."

She added:

"I have to find a way to not be affected by that."

The singer previously told PEOPLE that after comments emerged accusing her of being "too thin" and "unrecognizable," she felt both confused and hurt: "People started commenting about my body, saying I'm too thin, and that they don't recognize me anymore. And I was like, 'Oh, I've just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I've never felt better.' So, I was confused and sad and was like, 'Oh, it's almost worse now.' I don't know what happened."

Turning that frustration into creativity, Trainor embraced the empowering message behind the song: "I liked the idea of… 'Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don't care.' And I know that when I start singing it, it'll be my therapy, my exposure therapy." The singer emphasized that she stands by her choices, saying she refuses to feel shame for using medical tools under professional supervision. "Toy With Me" marks a new chapter in her artistic evolution, with Trainor describing the album as lighter, funnier, and emotionally liberating.

The single, "Still Don't Care," serves as both a personal release and an anthem for anyone who has faced unsolicited opinions about their body. Trainor's journey resonates with many who see in her story a reminder that prioritizing personal well-being is not only valid—but essential.
