Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 43, has long captured the public’s attention, from her acting career to her advocacy work and modern approach to royal life. 

In November 2024, Meghan made headlines by supporting a venture from her close friend and longtime hair colorist, Kadi Lee.

At the new haircare line launch party for Highbrow Hippie in Venice, California, Meghan was both a client and an investor. However, it was her appearance that sparked a wave of online reactions.

At the launch party, Lee, the founder of the new line, shared her inspiring journey and discussed how her close friendship with Meghan played a role in her business's growth. 

The duchess, known for her advocacy and influence, lightened the mood by joking, "I was using boxed dye when I met her!" which brought laughter to the crowd.

She also praised the brand, saying: "Kadi has a mastery of hair health, and her Highbrow Hippie collection is a perfect reflection of that. I am so proud to invest in her as a friend and as a female founder."

The new line stands out by addressing hair loss and thinning, a common concern among many. 

The founder, passionate about promoting hair health, explained: "I work with some of the most visible women in the world; keeping their hair healthy has always been at the top of my mind." 

Lee co-founded Highbrow Hippie with her close friend and salon partner, Myka Harris. Together, they’ve supported clients through various life stages, particularly during postpartum and the aging process when hair loss is more pronounced.

The co-founders shared: "We always knew we wanted to start a product line, and the conversations being had with clients made it clear that it needed to be about hair health."

And while some users praised Meghan's beauty as she posed for photos, others weren’t shy about voicing their opinions on her hair. 

For the event, the Duchess of Sussex exuded elegance in a $835 sleeveless black top from the brand Khaite, paired with wide-leg trousers and Aquazzura heels. She completed the look with gold accessories from Logan Hollowell.

Meghan styled her hair in loose curls that cascaded down her back. And while her locks have regularly been a signature part of her look, her latest hairstyle received underwhelming reactions. 

One critic commented: "Looking so old for her age! Also, temp hair extensions are not very good! As seen here." 

Another user expressed disappointment with her hair, saying:

"Her wig/extensions look bad – very limp & oily looking, and not sitting on her head quite right. If you're going to promote a hair product, at least make sure your hair looks amazing."

A harsher comment followed, with one person adding: "She doesn't shine, it's just her usual greasy mess." Yet another user urged: "Don't be delusional 🙄," insisting "She definitely has hair extensions!"

Some fans humorously voiced their preferences for other products, with one writing: "Having a messy hair/wigs/extensions like Meghan has is the opposite of what I want for my blonde hair. I will keep using Kerastase, Kiehl's, and Schwarzkopf. 😂😂😂."

Others expressed curiosity about seeing Meghan in a more natural state, with one fan saying:

"I wish to see one day Meghan in her natural hair." 

Another simply commented, "Looks greasy." The criticism continued, with one user adding: "Wig treatment 😂." 

Shifting focus, a user also questioned her outfit choice, asking: "Why is she always half naked?"

However, not all comments were negative. One fan admired her, saying:
