Meghan Markle's Father Says He Lied To Prince Harry But Believes The Royals Owe Him

Estranged father to Meghan Markle has spoken out on her and Prince Harry's recent decision to step down from royal life. In a documentary aired on British T.V., Thomas admits to lying to Prince Harry about staging photos for the papparazzi,however, he believes he is justified because the royals 'owe' him. 

Thomas Markle spoke about his daughter and son-in-law during a Channel 5 Documentary called "Thomas Markle: My Story." Thomas said he believes his daughter is 'destroying' the royal institution. 

"It's disappointing because she actually got every girl's dream. Every young girl wanted to become a princess and she got that, and now she's tossing that away, for it looks like she's tossing it away for money. Apparently $3 million and a 26-bedroom home isn't enough for them."

Thomas and Meghan's relationship became strained when Thomas was caught posing for photos leading up to Meghan and Harry's wedding. Thomas said Harry called him to ask him if he staged the photos, in the documentary, Thomas reveals he lied to Harry.

 "I denied it. All Harry asked me was did I pose for measurement for a suit, and I said no I wasn't posing for a measurement for a suit, I was being measured for a new hoody. That's what I told them. And of course that was a lie. I lied to him. I'm not proud of that, but I did."

But Thomas says he will continue to do interviews and be paid for them because that is what the royals owe him. "I'm going to defend myself and I'm going to be paid for it. I don't care. At this point, they owe me. The Royals owe me. Harry owes me, Meghan owes me. What I've been through I should be rewarded for." Thomas believes Meghan should take care of him now and sees the interviews as a way of doing that.

"My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she'll take care of me. I'm in my senior years now, it's time to look after daddy."

Thomas who hasn't ever met his grandson, Archie, says he will probably pass away before he and Meghan ever make amends. But he still admits he makes money off the photos he sold to the media.
