Meghan Markle Was Going To Start A Charity Prior To Meeting Harry

We know a lot about Prince Harry's new bride Meghan Markle because of her high-profile position as a royal family member's wife. But the more the public gets to know her, the more incredible facts about Meghan come to the surface.

For example, it has been revealed that Meghan was in the planning stages of a new charity but then met her Prince Charming and the plans were shelved.

Before becoming a wife and a mother, Meghan was very involved in charitable ventures that supported women and girls. According to the Royal Family's official website, she was named the UN Women's Advocate for Women’s Political Participation and Leadership in 2015, and worked with World Vision to bring awareness to the lack of education for girls. She also wrote an Op-Ed entitled "How Periods Affect Potential" for Time.

Now that the Duchess is settled into life with her new family, she may finally get the opportunity to start the charity she always dreamed of starting. According to sources close to the Duke and Duchess, one of the causes the couple hopes to support centers around Meghan Markle’s interests, including female education and sexual violence. Like the Royal Foundation, the cause has a wing in the U.S., as well.

"The idea for a charitable venture was shelved when Meghan moved to Britain—but aspects may be revived following last week’s announcement that she and Harry are leaving the Royal Foundation,” Charlotte Wace told The Mail on Sunday.

Luckily, Meghan Markle has some experience with the focuses of this charity. She has four official patronages, one of which is called Smart Works. Its focus is to help women dress and prepare for future careers. In addition to her past dedication to women’s causes, she also was one of the women who helped create a cookbook to support the survivors of the Grenfell Tower incident.

At the very least, this new endeavor should lead to more photos of Meghan and Harry with adorable children!
