Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, prefers to keep her personal life out of the tabloids ever since she and Harry left their royal duties behind for a life in the United States. Since their controversial exit from the royal family, however, they have found themselves surrounded by a lot of attention, a lot of which has not been positive. However, ardent fans of Meghan and Harry have continued to lend their support to the couple.
Meghan and Harry have had an incredibly eventful year. This summer alone has been huge for the couple, with the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4 kicking things off. Named in honor of both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and Harry's late mother Princess Diana, Lilibet's birth propelled the couple back into the press after a few months of laying low due to their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
Then mere days after giving birth to their daughter, the Duchess of Sussex released her very first children's book titled "The Bench." The story began as a poem that Markle wrote to Harry one Father's Day before it was turned into a book with gorgeous illustrations by Christian Robinson. To top the year off, Harry and Meghan graced one of the seven covers of TIME Magazine after they made it to the list of Most Influential People.
Now, Meghan has surprised her fans by taking part in an interview with Ellen Degeneres! A sneak peek was released on November 17, 2021, and the episode is set to air on November 18. This is the first time that Meghan has appeared on the show since she was married, and has opened up about her life, both past and present.
PEOPLE reported that in the sneak peek of the interview, Meghan reminisced with Ellen about going on auditions at the same Warner Bros. lot when she worked as an actress before meeting she met Harry, which Ellen addressed and said, “You said the last talk show you did was like, I don’t know, another decade ago, but you used to come to this lot to audition all the time." Meghan responded, "Oh my gosh, completely!"
"The security guards would always say, 'Break a leg! We hope you get it!' So the drive in today was very different," Meghan revealed to Ellen, who is also her neighbor in Montecito, California. When Ellen asked Meghan if the security guards recognized her, Meghan responded, "I think they probably said it to everybody. That's how nice they were."
Meghan also spoke about her humble beginnings and opened up about her old car, an old Ford Explorer Sport with "a life of its own." "I would park in the back of the parking lot and open the trunk, then climb in and pull it shut behind me and crawl over all my seats to get out," the former actress said with a laugh. "That's how I would come to and fro." She also added that if anyone caught her doing this, she would play it off by saying she was looking for something in her trunk.
The small sneak peek was a short clip, but it has certainly had fans atwitter about the upcoming Ellen episode, especially because this is the first time that Meghan has appeared on the Ellen Show. Meghan and Harry's last interview was in March 2021 with Oprah Winfrey and was met with both applause and criticism.
