Meghan Markle's Generosity & Philanthropy Set Her Apart As An Individual

Meghan Markle's story can seem like a fairytale at times — a famous actress meets a prince and they marry and start a family. Best known for her role as Rachel Zane in "Suits," in which she appeared for seven seasons out of the show's total nine, Markle also had a wide-ranging career outside of acting, which included everything from fashion to calligraphy and even being a lifestyle influencer. After it was confirmed she and Prince Harry were engaged, Markle announced her retirement from acting in order to focus on being a full-time member of the royal family.
But while her story is certainly a fairytale romance of our generation, Markle’s road to success comes at a price. Markle also came from more humble beginnings than being a Duchess. She was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1981 and grew up on television sets due to her father's profession. We can see where her natural stardom has led her.
There's simply no denying the incredible influence that Markle has had on the public, as she's set trends and helped bring a fresh perspective to the royal family. But in contrast, she's also endured an overwhelming amount of pressure from the media.
Traveling, speaking, and meeting people every day have been just a few of many new duties Markle endured while partaking in royal family duties.
In many recent interviews, the Duchess of Sussex has opened up to the world about how the British media has impacted her mental health. She has also spoken about how the media has impacted her as a new mother. The royal couple has two children Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor and Markle is now setting boundaries for her and her family.

In a 2019 interview with ITV’s Tom Brady, Markle opened up and said,
“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” Markle said. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed.”
The ITV interview was the first time the world had the curtain pulled back onto how the British-American woman was actually doing in her new role as a Duchess, wife, and mother. Markle also added,
“It’s hard. I don’t think anybody can understand that. In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand, but when I first met Harry, my friends were so excited, my US friends were happy because I was happy.”
She admits that eventually, her happiness took a turn. “But my British friends, they were sure he was lovely, but they said I shouldn’t do it because ‘the British tabloids will destroy your life,” she reflected. “Because I’m American I very naively didn’t get it. It’s complicated.”
Markle added, “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.”
“It is not enough to just survive something. That’s not the point of life. You’ve got to thrive and feel happy,” she said. Since admitting her real-life struggles, Markle has become a champion for women all over the world.

Last August Meghan filmed a home video with actress Melissa McCarthy, in which Melissa came up with several outrageous ideas on how Meghan was celebrating her 40th birthday. However, Meghan expressed that she was celebrating her 40th by launching the 40x40 project.
By teaming up with 40 "friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders," Meghan wants to kick off a global effort for people to offer 40 minutes of mentorship to women reentering the workforce.
Meghan said:
"With this time, I hope they each help someone advance a professional life on her own terms, and, I hope that they inspire countless others to give 40 minutes of their time as well. If you are able, please JOIN US and pledge 40 minutes today in service of others in the way that feels right to you. The time that you donate can contribute to a GLOBAL WAVE OF SERVICE and set in motion meaningful impact in our own communities, and across the world."
Among the 40 women already enlisted to mentor is singer Adele, poet Amanda Gorman, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and fashion designer Stella McCartney.
At the end of the video, during the bloopers, viewers caught a glimpse of Prince Harry as he was featured juggling outside a window behind Meghan. Melissa spots Harry first and laughs before Meghan turns around to also laugh at her husband's funny cameo.
