Estranged father to Meghan Markle has spoken out on her and Prince Harry's recent decision to step down from royal life. Markle’s outspoken father Thomas expressed his disappointment about his daughter and son-in-law’s decision to step back as senior royal family members, he even went as far as to accuse Meghan of quitting for more money.

Despite his criticism for his daughter, however, he admitted he felt "jealous" and teared up when he saw Prince Charles walk Meghan down the aisle on her special day.

Thomas Markle spoke about his daughter and son-in-law during a Channel 5 Documentary called "Thomas Markle: My Story." The documentary saw the 75-year-old get candid about his feelings towards Meghan and her husband as well as the rest of the British Royal family. Although he accused his daughter of "cheapening" the Royal family with her and her husband's decision to step back from their senior royal roles, he also expressed the pain he experienced when he witnessed Prince Charles walk her down the aisle.

"I was jealous of him," Markle admitted. "I really wanted to do that. I'll admit that I cried a little bit about that."

When quizzed about his opinion on Meghan and Harry quitting the Royal family and moving to North America, Thomas said he believes his daughter is 'destroying' the royal institution.

"It's disappointing because she actually got every girl's dream. Every young girl wanted to become a princess and she got that, and now she's tossing that away, for it looks like she's tossing it away for money. Apparently $3 million and a 26-bedroom home isn't enough for them."

Markle also took the opportunity to defend himself for staging paparazzi photos prior to the Royal wedding. The 75-year-old claimed he did it to redeem his public image after tabloids made him "look like a dumb, fat blob."

He explained he was approached by a photographer who promised to help Markle change his public image by staging photos for the media. Despite the fact that he still receives financial compensation for each of the photos he staged when they are used, he denies doing it for the money. When the interviewer tells Markle he is surely still making money off the photographs, he replied: "Absolutely, because those pictures will sell forever."

"I don't care. At this point, they owe me; the Royals owe me."
