Meghan Markle Reportedly Introduced Hillary Clinton To 6-Month-Old Archie And Hosted Her At Frogmore Cottage

As Meghan Markle, 38, takes a 6-week sabbatical from her royal duties, reports claim the Duchess hosted former First Lady Hillary Clinton, 72, at the Frogmore Cottage. 

According to the Daily Mail, Clinton visited the Sussex household on Tuesday, where she got to meet 6-month-old Archie. 

The two women have expressed mutual admiration from afar in the past, with Markle being very open of her support for Clinton in the 2016 American Presidential elections. Clinton has also expressed her own admiration for the Duchess and described her as an “amazing young woman” just this week in an interview with the BBC.

When asked about what she thought about Meghan Markle and her lawsuit against British tabloids, the former First Lady immediately expressed her support for the Duchess. 

“Oh my God, I just want to hug her!” Clinton told Barnett. “I feel as a mother I just want to put my arms around her. I want to tell her to hang in there, don’t let those bad guys get you down. Keep going, do what you think is right.”

Clinton also touched the topic of race, which she says is “clearly an element” in the British medias’ treatment of Markle.

"To think that some of your -- what we would call mainstream -- media actually allowed that to be printed in their pages or amplified, was heartbreaking and wrong," she added. 

The 72-year-old then expressed her admiration for the Duchess of Sussex, referring to her as an “amazing young woman.”

"She has stood up for herself, she has made her own way in the world," said Clinton. "And then she falls in love, and he falls in love with her, and everybody should be celebrating that because it is a true love story."
