Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, commemorated International Women’s Day on Mar. 8, 2025, with a sweetest carousel of pictures. She shared photos of her loved ones to mark the special celebration of women worldwide, including a never-seen-before picture of her daughter, Princess Lilibet, now aged 3. Meghan posted the sweet image of Lilibet being cuddled by her father, Prince Harry.
Since Christmas 2024, the Duchess of Sussex has been posting a bit more of her children, particularly Princess Lilibet. A few days before International Women’s Day, Meghan posted a video of Lilibet having a playdate with tennis star Serena Williams. As far as having interesting aunts goes, Princess Lilibet may have the most influential ones! Apart from having actual royalty as aunts in the United Kingdom, Prince Harry and Meghan’s daughter, Lilibet, also has her mother’s famous friends as “aunties” to rely on. After leaving the United Kingdom in 2020, Harry and Meghan found a new circle of friends and family based in their new home in Montecito, California.
The deep-rooted friendship between Meghan and Williams dates back to 2010 when they first met at the Super Bowl. They eventually crossed paths at another Super Bowl event, strengthening their friendship. Their bond has since flourished, with Williams attending Meghan and Harry’s wedding in 2018 and Meghan frequently supporting the sporting champ at her tennis matches. Meghan opened up about how their friendship blossomed, saying:
“We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff.”
Williams also spoke highly of Meghan, describing her as “the strongest person” she knew and praising her resilience in the face of public scrutiny.

In a heartwarming display of friendship and family ties, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a delightful playdate with tennis legend Serena Williams. On Mar. 1, 2025, Meghan shared an adorable clip of the young Princess Lilibet and Williams, a twenty-three-time Grand Slam winner. Meghan, known for her love for personal touches, organized a special “Candy Land” game session for Lilibet and her “Auntie.”
The sweet moment, which was shared on Meghan’s official Instagram account, showed Lilibet and Williams engrossed in the colorful board game on a low table in an indoor setting. In the clip, set to Bill Withers’ classic “Lovely Day,” Williams looked ever so fashionable in a fuchsia dress with highlights in her straight hair, clapping and smiling as Lilibet considered her next move. The young princess, with her red hair tied in a half-up ponytail, donned a light pink outfit adorned with floral designs, looking every inch the cute princess that she is. Meghan captioned the video:
“When the aunties come to play and celebrate! Love you @serenawilliams.”
Another accompanying picture in the carousel posted on Instagram’s temporary Stories feature was of the Duchess of Sussex and the tennis champion locked in a tight embrace. The posts were shared in tandem with Meghan’s efforts to promote her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” which launched on the streaming site on Mar. 4, 2025.
The playdate occurred at the Sussexes’ Montecito residence, a serene enclave in California where Prince Harry and Meghan have been raising their children away from the public eye since their relocation to America. Luckily, they managed to stay close to some friends in Hollywood and surrounded their small family with close friends. Some of these famous friends are set to feature in Meghan’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.”

The video thrilled fans as it was a rare glimpse into the young princess’s life. The Duchess of Sussex rarely shares pictures and videos of Lilibet or her other child, Prince Archie, whose faces remain mostly hidden from the public eye. This intimate gathering not only highlighted the close bond between Meghan and Williams but also offered a rare peek into the private life of the Sussex family.
Meghan gave another thrilling glimpse into life in the Sussex household on International Women’s Day in 2025. To celebrate the occasion, she shared a carousel of photos celebrating the women – young and old – in her life. Among the highlights was a snap of Lilibet snuggled up with her doting dad, Prince Harry.
In the usual Sussex fashion, Lilibet’s face is turned away from the camera in the photo. Harry and Meghan clearly intend to continue keeping their children’s faces hidden from the internet.
The carousel of pictures also featured a nostalgic one from Meghan’s own childhood in which she was seen leaning into her mother, Doria Ragland, as well as a more recent image of the two smiling happily into the camera. To finish the dedication, the Duchess of Sussex posted a romantic picture of her and her husband, Prince Harry. A stunning beach was the backdrop of their candid image, with Harry and Meghan locked in an embrace, smiling happily and looking ever-so-in-love. The series of pictures was accompanied by the caption:
“Happy International Women’s Day!” she wrote. “Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”
In previous years, Meghan has celebrated International Women’s Day in style. In 2024, she was part of a SXSW panel discussing the topic, “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen.”
