Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex launched legal action against UK based media Associated Newspapers, citing the “misuse of private information, infringement of copyright and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018” as their claims against the publishers.

This week, Argentinian Polo Star Nacho Figueras, who is a longtime friend of Prince Harry, made an appearance on the Ellen show where he voiced his support for the Sussexes amid their legal battle.

Ellen revealed during the episode that Figuera was actually the one to introduce her to the Duke and Duchess in the first place. The Polo star reportedly bonded with Prince Harry around 12 years ago over their mutual love for the sport.

“You an I feel very strongly and support what’s happening right now to protect themselves,” Ellen said, in regards to the ongoing lawsuit against British tabloids.

“I met them through you, as I said, and I learned how much scrutiny they’re under all the time,” she added. “You know that because you’ve been watching it longer than I have.”

Figuera then explained how since he’s known the Duke for such a long time, he’s watched him systematically be scrutinized by the British media for a very long time.

“He’s a wonderful man,” he said, “someone that really cares and is really committed. He cares about children, he cares about making the world a better place, then he found Meghan who is an incredible girl, you met her, she’s amazing.”

As he voiced his support for the Sussexes, he said that Meghan “gave up everything she had” to be with the Prince, whom she loves.

“People think of it like ‘Oh, how easy is it for you, girl, to go marry this guy’, but nobody knows all the very hard things that go with that,” he explained.

“The media and even some people are not seeing that these people [the Duce and Duchess] are heroes. We should be treating them as heroes. These guys are taking their time to make the world a better place.”
