Meghan Markle Debuted A New Third Band On Her Ring Finger

Even though she’s on maternity leave, new mom Meghan Markle stepped out to celebrate the Queen’s birthday much to everyone’s delight and surprise. She attended the “Trooping the Colour” event with other members of the Royal Family, looking fantastically chic as always, and with a little more sparkle than usual.

To mark the event, the Royal Family traditionally attends a military ceremony that marks one of two of Queen Elizabeth’s birthdays, and they are typically chauffeured in on very regal carriages. They then return to Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force’s air show on the balcony, waving to a massive crowd. In the time that it took to complete the ceremony, eagle-eyed royal watchers saw something different in Meghan and it wasn’t just her post-birth glow.

The Twitter account “Meghan’s Mirror” noticed a brand new “delicate pave-set band alongside her engagement and wedding rings.” Given its proximity to the two important rings, does the new addition actually signify anything? Refinery29 speculates that it could be a one-year anniversary present, or it could mark the birth of her first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor (sometimes known as a push present).

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex sat across from the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton in the carriage, and royal commentator Omid Scobie reported that Meghan was wearing Givenchy, while Kate was in her favorite designer McQueen. The two breathtaking fashion-forward women have inspired millions across the world with their attire. The “duchess effect” is real according to the Express.

They report that research finds that when Meghan or Kate wear a particular style or brand, the sales of that style or brand skyrocket. It would not be surprising if women everywhere begin shopping for this delicate diamond band. Perhaps it will become a new normal to have three bands on the ring finger.

In any case, it would seem like with Meghan’s life milestones being celebrated recently—her one year wedding anniversary May 19, 2019 and her baby boy’s birthday on May 6, 2019—there are plenty of reasons to celebrate with diamonds.
