Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Estimated To Make Millions After Stepping Down From Royal Duties

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced they will be stepping back from royal duties and seeking to be financially independent from the crown. However public relations experts have weighed in and believe the couple could make even more money from endorsements after leaving the royal family. 

Taking to their official Instagram account, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted a statement announcing they “intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and “work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”

The couple added that they will be splitting their time between the Prince’s native United Kingdom and North America and will be announcing the launch of their new charitable entity in the near future.

US public relations guru Ronn Torossian said to the Mirror that by walking away from the sovereign grant the couple can now get “any endorsement deals in the world they may want." Additionally, because the duke and duchess will not be bound to royal work, they are open to make lucrative deals and have commercial sponsorships. 

CEO of New York-based PR firm 5WPR told the Mirror said the couple shying away from the royal spotlight should not come as a shock. Mehgan has faced unfair scrutiny from the English press which has led her and her husband to take legal action against certain tabloids stated on their official website. She expressed gratitude towards a reporter’s concern during the “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey" documentary.

“Thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes," Meghan said. 

A royal source told the Mirror, “Harry and Meghan have clearly set their sights on becoming one of the most famous and influential couples in the world. They clearly value their global appeal more than the institution of the Royal Family and have no doubt been advised they can turn their royal connections into a private enterprise.

“The jury is out to see how this will fare with public opinion in the United Kingdom, which is probably why they are choosing to divide their time between Harry’s home and America.”
