Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Planning To Take A Royal Tour of Africa

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making plans for a royal tour to Africa later this year. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently welcomed their first child, Archie, back in May. The only question we have is: Will Archie be joining his new parents on their tour?

According to ITV, later this year, the young parents will travel to Africa and visit the countries of Angola, Malawi, and South Africa, where they will continue to follow in late Princess Diana's footsteps and carry out her humanitarian work on the continent. Princess Diana was famously filmed walking through an active landmine area in Angola the same year of her death. Her bravery helped to establish the worldwide ban on landmines today.

Royal commentator Camilla Tominey said when speaking to Nine News, Prince Harry has previously been to Angola in 2013 working to continue his mother's humanitarian efforts in the area. It seems now with the new announcement of a tour to Africa he wants to continue those efforts with Meghan by his side. In the next week, People reported that Prince Harry will be attending the Mine Clearance, Conservation, and Economic Development in Angola event.

Tominey also suggested that Meghan and Harry may not bring baby Archie with them as the Duke and Duchess could encounter "challenging terrain" while in Africa. This means they would be ending the long tradition of royals bringing their children on tours. "I think some of the terrain is probably quite challenging because he’ll still be under one – he’ll only be a few months old," she added.

"Yes, we saw Prince William and Kate famously take George to Australia when he was only nine-months-old. That followed in Princess Diana’s footsteps of taking William on an early tour."

I guess we will have to wait and see if baby Archie will be traveling to Africa with his mom and dad!
