Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threatened paparazzi with legal action following continuous harassment the couple has come under in Canada.

The legal threat comes just hours following the release of paparazzi photos of Meghan Markle taking a stroll in a Vancouver island park with her 8-month-old son Archie and her two dogs.

According to Sky News, a lawyer representing the Sussexes said photos of Meghan taking a stroll yesterday in a park on Vancouver island were taken without her consent. The lawyer claims paparazzi hid behind bushes and spied on the Duchess as she walked her two dogs along with her son Archie.

The publication also stated photographers had permanently set up camp outside their estate from where they allegedly attempted to take photos of the family inside their home using long range lenses.

Harry and Meghan’s lawyers said they additionally had safety concerns in regards to the paparazzi’s driving in Canada.

The concerns hit close to home for the Duke, as he lost his mother Diana, Princess of Wales in a car crash involving paparazzi in Paris in 1997.

The warning comes just days after Buckingham palace revealed the finalized details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from their roles as ‘senior Royals’.Queen Elizabeth II released a statement Saturday evening acknowledging the “scrutiny” her grandson and his wife have come under in the last two years and expressed her support for the young family to lead a more independent life.

Buckingham Palace also revealed some of the terms of the Sussexes new Royal status. According to CNN, Meghan and Harry will retain their royal HRH titles but will not use them - a move some suggest the Queen made so as to keep the door open should the couple regret their decision. Additionally, the Duke and Duchess will cease to receive public funding and are expected to pay back $3 million from the sovereign grant that went toward the refurbishment of the Frogmore Cottage home last year. Harry will also be giving up his military appointments as part of the agreement.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex is part of another ongoing case against British tabloids. Meghan launched legal action against UK based media Associated Newspapers last October, citing the “misuse of private information, infringement of copyright and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018” as her claims against the publishers.

The Mail on Sunday, which is part of Associated Newspapers, is accused of releasing a private letter written by Meghan Markle to her father, Thomas Markle last year. The publication is countering the accusation by claiming there is a “huge and legitimate” interest in the personal lives of the Royal family.
