The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been keeping up with their long list of royal duties even with a newborn in their lives. They recently toted little Prince Archie to southern Africa for a multi-country tour, all filmed by an ITV film crew. On the way, Meghan opened up about her experience being a newlywed and new mother.

The new documentary, entitled “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” follows the young family through the ten-day trip as the couple visited their favorite organizations to bring awareness to their work. Reporter Tom Bradby tagged along and asked a few questions.

The producers released a clip from the doc where Bradby inquired about Meghan’s new motherhood. In a rare moment of letting her guard down, Meghan was very honest about the pressure she is currently feeling.

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” she said in the clip.

Mehgan has faced unfair scrutiny from the English press which has led her husband to take legal action against certain tabloids stated on their official website. She expressed gratitude for the reporter’s concern.

“Thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Meghan’s conversation with the reporter became especially vulnerable when he asked if it was fair to say that she wasn’t really that okay, and if it has been a struggle, to which she responds “Yes.”
