“I would do anything for love,” Meat Loaf sings in his popular hit. As it happens, Meat Loaf wasn’t just saying that he’d do anything for a woman – his love runs deep for abandoned animals, too! In 2015, Meat Loaf was on tour in New Mexico when his band found a puppy that had been abandoned in a nearby dumpster. What did the singer do? With his big heart, he decided that rescuing the abandoned animal was the only thing that made sense!

They worked to get the tiny puppy out of the deep dumpster, and then took her to a vet where she could receive the medical care she needed.

Just when it looked like the story couldn’t get any happier, Meat Loaf decided that this lucky little dog needed to become his road companion. She was going to get to go on tour along with the band!

Meat Loaf took to Facebook to show off his new best friend and give reports that she was doing well on the road along with pictures of her posing beside band instruments and with the band members themselves.

While Meat Loaf was obviously in love with the puppy, he also knew that life on the road wasn’t best for her long-term.

In the same Facebook post, he said he helped her find a new family that owned a ranch where she could run free and play with the family’s children.

Despite the puppy moving on to another home, Meat Loaf assured his fans that she would always have a special part in the band and would be considered part of their extended family.

It’s great to hear of a star that is so concerned about animals that have been hurt and neglected. What is your favorite Meat Loaf song? Let us hear about it in the comment section, and then invite your friends to learn about the way that Meat Loaf saved this sweet puppy.
