It seems like almost every day, someone has a hard time when it comes to seating arrangements while traveling, whether this is by bus, train, or, more frequently, plane. With planes, comfort is a major factor when traveling, especially on long-haul flights, and airlines are known to take full advantage of this by charging extra for more favorable seats. For some, the extra charges are just a small price for comfort, and they are willing to fork out extra. For others, this is not the case, and they instead put their faith in the kindness of strangers to end up with the seats they want.

In the case of Martin Short, the actor graciously gave up his seat on a plane ride with a kid who turned out to be some celebrity's child. Known for his funny demeanor and comedic charisma, the 73-year-old comedian is perhaps one of the kindest people in the industry.

Known for his family-friendly movies and comedy shows, Short has starred in plenty. These include "Three Amigos," "Three Fugitives," "Captain Ron," "Clifford," and "Jungle 2 Jungle," among many others. His voice was also featured in a lot of animated films like "The Prince of Egypt," "The Pebble and the Penguin," "101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure," and many more.

Because of his outstanding work in film and television, he was also the recipient of many awards – two Primetime Emmy Awards with 17 nominations, a Tony Award, two Screen Actor Guild Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards, with many credited to his role on "Only Murders in the Building."

Short was named by Chance the Rapper, who later on revealed to have been helped by him unexpectedly. Read on to learn more about the heartwarming story.

For those who do not know, Chance the Rapper is one of the judges of the Season 23 of the reality singing competition "The Voice," along with Blake SheltonKelly Clarkson, and Niall Horan

Formally known as Chancellor Johnathan Bennett, Chance the Rapper is a Grammy award-winning rapper. His third mixtape, "Coloring Book," earned three Grammy Awards, which launched him to critical acclaim and popularity. His most popular songs were "Angels," "I Might Need Security," "The Heart & The Tongue," "Child of God," and "The Man Who Has Everything," among many others.

Notably, Chance the Rapper appealed to a different crowd as a rapper because of how he incorporated gospel and Christianity into his music. Although he was raised as a Christian by his grandmother, he fell out of faith at one point in his life. However, it was only after her daughter was born with an atrial flutter that he rediscovered his faith in God, which he revealed to GQ Magazine.

On the other hand, Short told Men's Journal that he was not a big fan of organized religion.

"It's caused a lot of despair and prejudice throughout the world. Some people in aspects of organized religion do wonderful work, but overall I'm not a fan," he told the publication.

Interestingly, many people believed that Short was Jewish, but he publicly identified as an Irish Catholic back then as he was raised in a household of the same belief. Despite this, Short has been well known to be a very kind man and has been well-loved by the public as he lit up every room or show he was a part of.

On many occasions, a man's innate kindness and humanity can be candidly seen when they interact with strangers. In this case, Chance the Rapper took to Twitter to tell his followers about a surprising encounter he had while flying on a plane with his daughter.

"So I just got on this plane with my daughter, and found out our seats weren't next to each other. I really ain't wanna inconvenience anyone by asking them to swap seats, but before I could say anything this kind older gentleman offered his seat to Kensli so we could sit together," he wrote on Twitter.

As they thanked the man for his kindness and graciousness, the said man stood up, and they were shocked by the realization that it was a very famous celebrity!

"We both said thank you and as he stands up, I realize it's THE Martin Short!! So cool and Kensli freaked out cause she's obsessed with The Santa Clause 3. What an awesome person! SHOUTOUT TO JACK FROST," he gushed.

Fans were delighted and shocked by the unlikely but very adorable encounter. A fan even jokingly suggested that Chance the Rapper should have let his daughter sit by herself, as he should have taken the spot instead and sat behind Short.

"Oh thanks so much but the little girl will be fine where she is… *opens laptop* ANYWAYS this a lil script I've been working on it's called 'Four Amigos!'" Chance the Rapper wrote in jest, writing what he could have told Short instead.

Many expressed their happiness in Chance the Rapper's story while also praising Short for his kindness:

"With all these arrogant wannabe celebrities out here a real one shows them how to behave! Congratulations martin short & to you for an unforgettable moment," a user tweeted.
