There’s nothing better than stumbling across a celebrity in public. It can be such a thrilling experience, and it can create memories that will last you a lifetime. Celebrities are just like everybody else, and they have to live their boring lives as regular people, too. They go to the grocery store, and they go to fun events. You probably won’t notice a lot of celebrities because they disguise themselves to fit in with crowds. Some famous musicians even disguise themselves while performing to relive their early career days doing intimate gigs at bars. This video with Jimmy Fallon is a really interesting take on the whole idea of celebrity disguises, and it turns out to be a real crowd pleaser during an unsuspecting day at a New York City subway.

Public spectacles like flash-mobs have been popular for more than a decade. There just seems to be a fundamental need in human beings to feel special. Jimmy Fallon is definitely an expert at coming up with great ideas that get his audiences involved. That’s probably why so many people love watching his YouTube channel. The entire band roster of Maroon 5 met up with Fallon in his studio. Expert makeup artists designed fantastic disguises, and they worked for hours getting the costumes ready. The band heads out with Fallon once they finish checking out their new look. It really is amazing what skilled special effects artists can do with just a few fake beards. They look so unassuming, and you’d never know they were famous.
Their disguise doesn’t just stop with costumes. They have plenty of authentic props to make them look like real NYC street performers. You’ll notice in the video that they even have a colorful old rug to sit their mic stands on. Lot’s of street performers do this because the rough concrete can seriously wear through the aluminum bases of microphone stands. The attention to detail that the show went through was amazing, but the real treat is when they start their performance.
Jimmy Fallon isn’t much of a singer, but he really does give it his very best from the bottom of his heart. The crowd seems to gather around just because the music is fantastic, and it makes the whole experience look realistic. It might just be a staged event with hired people gathering around, but that wouldn’t make much difference in the awesome video. It’s a cool idea, and the whole crowd looks so shocked when the performers finally remove their disguises. It’s almost like watching reality television, and the members of the crowd are definitely very lucky to have been in that subway terminal at the right time.
This crazy idea might become a common practice with late-night talk shows. The viewer counts for cable television shows seem to be constantly falling, and the future doesn’t look bright for television as a whole. These creative little snippets might be just what TV shows need to stay in business. Time will only tell if similar shows will be able to turn their bad luck around like Fallon continually does.
