Marj Dusay Star Of 'Guiding Light' And 'All My Children' Passed Away Aged 83

The soap opera actress Marj Dusay of “Guiding Light” and “All My Children” passed away in her sleep, aged 83, on Tuesday.

Her step-daughter Elizabeth Perine confirmed her death on Facebook in a Marj Dusay Facebook Fan Club page post, sharing the unfortunate news and saying “She was quite a woman and had quite a grand life. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed💖”

Dusay was a staple on daytime television, most known for her role as Alexandra Spaulding on “Guiding Light.” She also appeared on “Days of Our Lives” and “All My Children,” other beloved long-running soap operas. For her work, she was nominated for two Daytime Emmy awards according to People; one for best villain and one for best leading actress.

News of her passing sparked an outpour of loving messages from fans on social media. 

"RIP to a soap legend [Marj Dusay] who was in on everything daytime… she always gave 110% in her acting," one person wrote on Twitter

"I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of #MarjDusay. We had mutual friends in NYC and she was always so welcoming and wonderful to me. My heart goes out to her friends and family, and, her many fans who appreciated her on and off camera," wrote another.
