Micah Wooten was all set to graduate as a Marine recruit. After a long, grueling stint in a 13-week boot camp, Micah was thrilled to attend his graduation ceremony. Who wouldn't be in his position? Boot camp can certainly make or break a person. It is long, hard, and tests your body and spirit. When it is time for graduation, it is no wonder that new recruits consider it one of the best days of their lives.
Unfortunately, Micah ended up in the hospital on the very day of his graduation. He was rushed there for emergency surgery. He wouldn't be able to make it to his graduation ceremony after all.
However, the hospital staff wanted the new Marine recruit to receive all the honors that he was entitled to. As the 17-year-old was being transported to his new room following his surgery, which had gone smoothly, the staff lined up through the hallway and put on the Marines' Hymn.

Missy Wooten, Micah's mother, talked to InsideEdition.com about the impromptu ceremony. He said that he really loved it and was smiling as he was rolled down the hall on his hospital bed. He told her that it made him feel very proud of all he had accomplished during boot camp.
Missy went on to talk about the morning of his graduation. She and her seven other children were all getting ready to attend the ceremony when they received an emergency phone call. The caller stated that Micah was being transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital after being in the Military Acute Care Department. Instead of attending his graduation, the family headed to the hospital.
Many of the staff at Beaufort know how important military life is. Some even have loved ones serving in the military at this very moment. Others grew up moving from place to place because of their military parents. They knew that they had to do something for this new recruit. It was only fair that he received something special that day, no matter how small.
Missy said that it was wonderful that they took the time out of their busy day to do something special for her son. She said that they can never thank them enough for their kind tribute. Watch the emotional video for yourself below:
