Man’s Girlfriend Presents Ultimatum

Relationships can bring out the best in us. With someone else’s affection, we suddenly stand up a little straighter and believe in ourselves a little more. Of course, relationships take work too, and they can sometimes involve sacrifices. For one man though, the sacrifice his girlfriend asked him to make was too much.

Sometimes that sacrifice can be living conditions. For example, living with a dog can require some adjustments. They don’t always get up at the same time you do. They are also pretty noisy: barking when they want to be let in, barking when they want to be let out, and sometimes just barking for the sake of barking.

But once you bond with a dog, many people will say that they become their best friend. It’s a connection that can’t be broken.

So, when this man was given an ultimatum by his girlfriend—the dog or her—he made a surprising choice. He posted an ad to Craigslist in Roanoke, Virginia, with the title “Free to anyone willing to home.”

It had a picture of his dog Molly. At first, you think that it is an advertisement for giving up his pet. When you read a bit more closely, however, you see that it’s actually about his girlfriend. “Anyone interested in my 30 year old, selfish, wicked, gold-digging girlfriend?” the ad asks. “Me and my dog want her re-homed ASAP!!”
