The big proposal took place at the Pabst Farms YMCA in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. It is at this community center that the couple takes Zumba classes together.

Gerbitz used this opportunity to get down on one knee in front of the whole class and profess his love for Ehlers.

Their families had been told in advance of the plans by Gerbitz. So they were all there in attendance to film the special moment and to share in their joy.

Of course, Ehlers said yes and the two embraced with tears in their eyes.

Ehlers told Special Olympics Wisconsin that she was shocked by the proposal, but that she was so happy.

Gerbitz said that he was nervous as he proposed, but that all that matters is that she is in life forever now.

The happy couple has decided to tie the knot in the spring of 2020. This will give them plenty of time to plan the perfect wedding.
