Man Who Didn't Feel 'Masculine' Undergoes Leg-Lengthening Surgery & Gains Several Inches

Inferiority complex exists for many reasons. Perceived lack of intelligence and unhealthy self-comparisons are some of the things that can lead to an inferiority complex. A man's height can also cause an inferiority complex. According to Tree House Recovery PDX, many men get bothered about their heights and can feel inferior because of it. Some short men also act more aggressively toward tall men.

In an interview, Dr. Shahab Mahboubian, a surgeon at the Height Lengthening Institute in California, spoke about his patients and said, "The 'short' jokes keep going on and they feel inferior," he said.

Meanwhile, in some instances, some men take it a notch further by comparing themselves to women. This act often arises from the perception that women should be naturally shorter than men. Consequently, men who hold this belief feel emasculated if they think they are shorter than a particular height.

This rationale explains why leg lengthening surgery has become popular among men. Leg lengthening surgery, a part of limb lengthening surgery, is a medical procedure that increases the length of a leg's bone. The procedure is commonly used to treat skeletal dysplasia, bone growth issues, and bone length differences. However, according to Cleveland Clinic, it is increasingly being used to lengthen the heights of people who want to grow taller.

The bones are cut for this procedure, and a metal rod is inserted into the space and secured with pins. The patient will turn the pins daily for 90 days until they get the desired height, accompanied by exercises and physiotherapy.

A German man underwent the procedure because he didn't feel masculine standing at 5' 8". He documented his journey on TikTok and Instagram from Feb. 21, 2023, showing his taller self standing beside a paper image of his shorter self.

According to the details on his TikTok and Instagram accounts, a 21-year-old man from Germany had three surgical procedures in Indonesia and Turkey to get taller because he didn't feel masculine. The German revealed on TikTok on Feb. 21, 2023, that he had the surgery three weeks before.

"3 weeks after surgery: 176+2cm with shoes on the picture =178. My goal without shoes 182cm."

The Tiktoker explained his motivation further in one of his videos and said:

"For me 1.70m is short, honestly it affects my self-confidence. I don't feel masculine. There are women who are 1.75m or even taller." He added, "It sucks and it brought me down a lot."

The man’s family seemed to support his decision as they all welcomed him with hugs and tears in one of the clips he captioned:

"The reaction from my family after +10, 5cm more height." He sub-captioned it, "After 4 months I saw them, magical moment 🫶🏻."

As revealed in one of his pinned videos, the influencer now stands at 183 cm but still aims for 190 cm. He also repeatedly encourages other men who feel short to do the same surgery and boost their confidence.

Meanwhile, the social media personality got some encouragement during his healing and recovery process from another man who also did the same surgery. The man, Dynzell Sigers, who previously stood at 5 '5'', is now 6 ft tall and has spent a whopping $81,000 on a limb-lengthening surgery to become taller. Sigers told NTK that he used to get rejected and was shy. However, since the surgery, that has changed.

"I’ve also been able to garner much more attention from women and I have no reservations about approaching them," he said.
