Man Proposes On Ice Rink Under Christmas Tree At Rockefeller Center

Every girl dreams about what her wedding day will be like, but before that can happen, there needs to be a beautiful proposal. Some people opt to propose in a more intimate setting, like in the comfort of their own home or at a very secluded area in a romantic restaurant. Others choose something a bit more extravagant and show-stopping, like proposing in front of a large crowd of people in front of a well known landmark.

For one woman, she received the surprise of a lifetime on Dec. 6, 2021, when she was at the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City, New York. What started off like a normal evening on the ice quickly turned into one of the most magical moments for the woman. Her partner had a wonderful surprise planned.

The ice rink was almost completely empty aside from the woman and her partner, and a brightly lit huge Christmas tree towered over the pair. It was the perfect setting, almost as if it was plucked straight out of a romantic film. The man took advantage of the gorgeous opportunity in front of him and got down on one knee. 

The woman was clearly overcome with an abundance of emotions as the beautiful sight played out in front of her. Above the couple was a huge crowd of strangers happily watching along as they waited to see if the woman would say yes to the man’s heartfelt proposal. A moment that this woman will surely never forget was fortunately filmed by a passerby by the name of Rajiv Nema. He is an actor, comedian and YouTuber, according to his Twitter bio. While he was at the Rockefeller Center on Dec. 6, 2021, he saw a heartwarming moment that he couldn’t help but capture on video, even if it was completely by accident. His camera panned across the ice rink before stopping on a couple, who surely will never forget what happened next.

Nema posted the video to Twitter, and said, “This amazing romantic moment happened in @rockcenternyc today… as if I was planted to shoot this. I was trying to capture the skaters in the ice rink but. What a proposal.”

The video showed the heartwarming moment a man and woman were skating together on the almost empty ice rink. The Rockefeller Christmas tree was brightly lit behind them, making the scene absolutely mesmerizing. It was a perfect winter wonderland. Suddenly, the man got down on one knee in front of his partner and pulled out a box with a ring in it, proposing to the woman in the most stunning way imaginable.

The woman said yes! After her partner put her new engagement ring on her finger, the two shared a sweet kiss, with plenty of onlookers cheering from above the rink. Nema uploaded a few more videos of the newly engaged couple and the happy crowd rooting for them. During one of the videos, the couple excitedly hugged a few people who were waiting on the side of the rink. It felt like everyone joined the celebration of the happy, romantic moment, sending their best wishes to the couple.
