A man from Australia witnessed a giant spider climbing up his fridge carrying a mouse, so he notified his neighbor who filmed the whole scenario.

The photos in this article may cause a little stress for individuals afraid of spiders. The fact is, individuals without a fear of spiders may feel a little squeamish once seeing what a man recorded a large spider doing in the kitchen of a neighbor.

Jason Womal was leaving his home to go to work when a neighbor called his name. When Jason answered, his neighbor asked him to take a look at something. Jason followed his neighbor inside and was in shock when two of his own phobias were witnessed at once.

A spider was carrying a mouse alongside the refrigerator. The scene was definitely worthy of a nightmare.

Jason had a hard time understanding the impossible event he witnessed. The large spider carried the mouse upward toward the top of the refrigerator. It is unclear whether or not the mouse was already dead when the spider found it. But either way, carrying the mouse was an impressive feat performed by the spider.

Jason quickly reached for his phone to record the event. He uploaded the video to Facebook where it quickly received more than 20 million views.

Many viewers were deeply disturbed by the spider carrying the mouse and left comments to reflect this fact. Jason added a second post to inform viewers that the spider has not been harmed. He also explained that he and the neighbor decided to name the spider Hermie.

The spider in the video is supposed to be a Huntsman spider. The norm for these spiders is to grow about an inch long. However, Giant Huntsman spiders can grow to be as large as a typical dinner plate.

Huntsman spiders do not use a web to subdue its victims. Instead, they ambush and kill their victims. They are able to kill their prey because of the strength of their mouthparts and deadly venom they possess.

What are your thoughts on Hermie? Would you allow the spider to remain in your home? Let us know in the comments and feel free to send this video to your friends if you're feeling like giving them a bit of a spook.
