There are thousands upon thousands of people who love animals and do everything that they can to get homeless pets into their forever homes. However, most people don’t go the way that Scott Poore does. Poore has been devoting most of his life to helping animals, especially shelter dogs.

Scott, who is from Kansas City, works for a group called Mission Driven Goods. He left a 9-5 job to dedicate all of his time to helping dogs. He creates and promotes many fundraisers that allows shelters to meet the needs of their animals. He also spends a lot of time with the residents of the shelters in order to help them find the homes that they so deserve, according to the website.

Scott finds out what the animals need the most. When he does, he puts out a call on social media apps for help. However, no one could have guessed what Scott would do for a shelter dog he found. Queen is a 3-year-old pit bull mix who had been a resident of the wonderful Great Plains SPCA for more than a year. She was waiting for someone to come in and give her a forever home. Unfortunately, visitors can see how long each animal has been in the shelter, according to Scott. In the case of Queen, her card read 400 days. Many people think that there must be something wrong with an animal if they are there that long.

Scott knew that it was time for drastic action. He wanted to do something that could potentially go viral and bring attention to her sad story. He decided that he would “move in” with Queen. That’s right- he lived in her kennel for a short period of time. He stated that while it wasn’t the most enjoyable time in his life, he was still willing to do it for Queen.

'I love my roommate and she has been amazing, and she loves the company,' he said to Inside Edition.

He also said that when the lights go out and shelter members leave, you don’t really get much sleep because of the noise. His experiment lasted from September 17th through September 24th, when the shelter received some amazing news. Queen had found a forever home, thanks to the efforts of one amazing man who wouldn’t give up on a dog in need. Check out the wonderful video of Queen heading to her new home:
