Jose Guzman was at a barbecue with his family down the street from his home when he found out his house was on fire. Taking immediate action, he sprinted down the street and got to his house while firefighters were attempting to put out the flames. He ignored their orders and ran past them, dashing into the house, despite the fact that the home was completely engulfed in flames.

In his eyes, there was no decision to make when it came to running into the blazing home. He had to get his dog.

Running through the home, he found his pit bull huddled up in the bathroom. The bathroom was the single room in the home that wasn't on fire. Neighbors thought that he might not make it back out of the home, but he came running out with his dog in his hands.

While the story has a good ending, he did wind up with fairly bad burns to his face and arms. His dog had burned paws, but neither of their injuries is life-threatening and they are currently recovering together at home. Any real dog lover knows that the actions Jose took had to be taken.
