Most of us live our lives according to a well-rehearsed routine. The patterns of behavior we follow save both time and energy as we go about our days.

The people that know us best will take notice whenever we suddenly stop or alter these routines.

Many times these sudden shifts are positive and indicate a new commitment to a better way of life. Other times they can be a signal of mental, physical, or emotional decline.

Unfortunately, a sudden change of routine can also be a clear sign foul play is at hand. This explanation is the one surmised by the family of an Alabama woman who was not seen after leaving for the post office in her town.

According to ABC news, Robin Fancher is a resident of Headland, a small Alabama town with 4,600 residents. She took a trip to her local post office on a Wednesday morning and was not seen or heard from for several days.

The trip to the post office was only a mile from her home. This fact caused her friends and family to fear the worst. Her family called the police and Robin was officially listed as a missing person two days after she left for the post office.

An all-out manhunt went into effect. Robin was a diabetic and her family feared she had no medicine with her. They wanted to find her before she slipped into a coma brought on by her illness.

A police officer discovered Robin's car five days after she left her home. A passing motorist spotted the car over the side of an embankment. The car was lying in brush nearly 20 miles from Robin's home.

The first report to the family was that Robin had not survived the accident. Fortunately, this proved later to be incorrect information. Robin was, in fact, alive and responding to the questions of first responders.

It is amazing the motorist was able to see Robin's car. The motorist did not want to be identified but said the overgrown grass and bushes at the site made it difficult for rescuers to pinpoint Robin's location.

Once rescuers did find Robin it was just as tricky to rescue the trapped woman. But with a little communication and a concerted effort, she was soon freed from the car.
