Whenever you go thrifting, going to yard sales, or flea marketing, you're always hoping in the back of your mind that you'll find that one little thing that may change your life. Sometimes though, you may end up finding something that will change the life of someone else. This is exactly what happened to a couple in Texas who bought a simple American flag at a flea market.

When Walter Brown and his wife Lanie found the large flag, the owner of the booth gave them a great deal on it because it was covered in writing. For only $5, they knew exactly what they were going to do with it. It turns out that the writing wasn't just a bunch of scribbles, they were messages meant for a hero that had dedicated his life to serving the United States.

The flag was actually a tribute to Lance Cpl. Fred Maciel, a fallen member of the Marines. This soldier was beloved by his fellow servicemen and they memorialized his life in the form of a flag to pay tribute to his life.

When the Brown's saw these words, they knew exactly what the flag was for and happily paid the $5 in order to make sure the flag ended up in the hands of Maciel's family.

As the proud father of a Marine himself, Walter knew that he would want to have this keepsake if anything had ever happened to his son in the line of duty.

Upon gathering more information, the Brown's found out that Maciel had passed 9 years ago and his family thought that the flag had been lost forever.

They knew that they had to right this wrong and give them back the small piece of their son's life. They made the decision to personally deliver it to his mother to ensure that it wouldn't get lost again. This moment was captured on video and the heart touching moment has the internet in tears. In the video, the reaction the mother has as she is given this important tribute will stir the emotions of almost everyone who watches it as the mother gets to hold the glad that meant so much for the first time.

Have you ever discovered something important at a flea market? What would you do if you found something so important? Do you know anyone who would appreciate this act of kindness?
